Start with the source of the overflow

Water spilling from a gutter may come from a blockage, a failed joint, incorrect falls or an inadequate outlet. Staining on a wall is useful information, but does not establish the cause on its own. Tell us where you see water and whether it happens only during heavy rain.

Local repair or replacement

A sound gutter with one failed connection may only need a local repair. Repeated leaks, distortion, loose supports or widespread deterioration can make replacement more appropriate. We discuss the accessible findings and explain the proposed work rather than assuming every gutter must be renewed.

Look at the rainwater route

Gutters need to direct water into usable outlets and downpipes. We consider the junctions, brackets and visible discharge arrangement within the agreed scope. Concealed drainage or underground pipe problems may need separate investigation and are not automatically included in gutter replacement.

Plan safe access
